A Medical Technologist opportunity is available in Port Charlotte, FL within a laboratory network that supports more than 250 acute and rehabilitation hospitals, physician practices, surgery centers, and commercial accounts across Florida.

The role. Working within a hospital-based rapid-response laboratory, the Medical Technologist performs accurate and timely diagnostic testing — including stat procedures within established turnaround time targets — and applies independent judgment to correlate and interpret patient results, including delta checks. This position carries responsibility for performing quality control procedures per protocol and managing critical laboratory specimens and results. The technologist reviews pending and result logs, resolves outstanding workload, and communicates effectively with relief staff. In the absence of the supervisor, the Medical Technologist assumes appropriate departmental responsibility.

What we're looking for.

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required
• A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist required
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas required (Generalist highly preferred); qualifying specialties include Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology

Schedule. Full-time, nights with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $27.09 - $37.92/hr
