Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 or 26 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays: Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
• Manage a dynamic patient census that may include inductions, high-risk antepartum patients, and third-trimester testing, with average daily deliveries around 7 and census up to 14
• Perform OB triage assessments and support third-trimester testing patients as part of routine unit workflow
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for all clinical documentation
• Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet patient care demands
• Charge experience preferred; facility is willing to train for charge responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience; first-time travelers accepted
• 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
• Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience in Labor & Delivery or a related OB setting
• Experience with high-risk obstetric patient populations
• Familiarity with Epic charting in an acute hospital environment
