Tax Accountant - Public Accounting

We provide a wide variety of accounting and tax services including tax preparation, audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, payroll, and consulting services for individuals, businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, school districts, employee benefit plans, and more. We are currently seeking a full-time Tax Accountant with public accounting experience to join our growing team. Responsibilities Perform monthly and quarterly accounting services Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns Communicate with clients and assist with tax-related questions Become familiar with firm policies, procedures, and software systems Maintain compliance with deadlines and time budgets Stay current with accounting standards, tax regulations, and AICPA/Illinois CPA Society ethics requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 3–5 years of experience preferred Previous public accounting and tax experience strongly preferred Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities during busy season Hybrid work schedule with flexibility you help dictate Friendly, team-oriented culture that promotes work/life balance Overtime during busy season is typically limited to approximately 10 hours per week and only lasts a few weeks Competitive compensation + 10% potential bonus opportunity Mentorship program and ongoing training opportunities Professional association memberships Career growth opportunities within a growing firm 401(k) with company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Disability and life insurance Paid holidays Parental leave Work-from-home flexibility Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday–Friday Location: Hybrid remote in McHenry, IL 60050 #J-18808-Ljbffr Eccezion
