Job Overview

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, managing the monthly close process, and preparing accurate financial reporting and reconciliations. The role oversees key transactional activities across A/P, A/R, cash receipts, credit card activity, journal entries, and sales tax filings, while helping maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. In addition, the position works cross-functionally to support inventory management, sales commission reporting, financial system integrations and order fulfillment processes to help ensure operational efficiency and timely issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

a. Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

• Manage the monthly close process and prepare draft financial statements
• Ensure day-to-day accounting transactions are accurately recorded, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Cash receipts & Credit card transactions
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare general ledger account schedules and supporting reconciliations
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Support financial reporting, analysis, board presentation materials, and ad hoc accounting schedules as needed
• Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states
• Assist with maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting requirements

b. Operational & Cross-Functional Support

• Support inventory tracking and inventory management processes
• Manage and troubleshoot integrations between: Magento (webstore platform), Webgility & QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Calculate and prepare sales commission reports
• Oversee order fulfillment workflows to help ensure operational issues are identified and resolved promptly, including but not limited to:
• Missing shipping documentation
• Coordination issues between Sales, A/R, and Shipping teams
• Process discrepancies impacting customer fulfillment

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a similarly sized company
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP)
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with foreign currency transactions
• Experience preparing sales tax filings
• Experience supporting inventory accounting and operational workflows
• Familiarity with eCommerce and accounting system integrations
