The claims analyst will mitigate and manage claims expenses to Oak Harbor and work to ensure customers satisfaction when customer shipments are damaged or lost.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive, investigate, and process cargo claims per OAKH Policy and Federal Statute
• Maintain accurate claims files.
• Print / Scan claims from the "Claims Email Inbox".
• Assist and educate Internal / External Customers regarding claims processes.
• Answer status calls regarding claims and provide customer support during the claims process to ensure positive experience for our customers.
• Assist with Salvage/OSD requests.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications :

• Must have either Transportation (Freight) and/or Claims Investigation experience.
• Basic knowledge of NMFC rules and regulations in an LTL environment preferred.
• 1+ year experience in claims in an LTL environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to think critically.
• Ability to work successfully with internal / customers to resolve issues/claims.
• Strong PC proficiency and experience using MS Office products.
• AS400 experience preferred but not required.
• H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent required.
