DUAL CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITY To fill a current Itinerant vacancy, 8 hours per day, 185 days per year, and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. The established eligibility list will remain in effect for six (6) months. You will be asked to attach your California driver's license, a valid current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Under general supervision of an assigned supervisor, participate in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans; provide training to staff and serve as a lead regarding the use of behavioral intervention techniques; evaluate student progress through data collection techniques and modify behavioral plans and programs to achieve optimal behavioral outcomes that facilitate student learning. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a minimum of a Master’s degree from a recognized behavior analysis program or qualifying institution, and 3 years of experience in special education instructional environments across a range of grade levels. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver’s license. Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Incumbents are required to maintain a valid status as a condition of continued employment. SELECTION PROCESS: Step 1: Application Screening: (pass/fail) Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Applications will be evaluated and ranked according to criteria that most closely meets the needs of the department, so it is essential that applicants provide as much detail as possible and answer all parts of the application, including work experience and the supplemental questionnaire. If there is a high number of qualified applicants, a comparative screening will be conducted to determine which of the applicants will be selected for invitation to the performance examination. Results of the screening will be emailed. Applicants who pass the screening portion of the examination process will be given further instructions. Notifications will not be sent until after the closing date for the position. Step 2: Qualification Appraisal Interview (weighted 100%) Date to be determined. All applicants must achieve a passing score in each part of the examination process in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Step 3: Final interview with hiring manager, Reference checks and selection decision. ADDITIONAL SALARY INFORMATION New Hires – Initial Salary Placement The District has established criteria in place that recognizes the education and experience new employees bring to their role in supporting students and the services of the District. Upon approval of the Director of Classified Human Resources, a new employee may be provided with advanced step placement up to Step 5 based on the following criteria: Additional qualifying experience beyond that required for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of experience related to the classification) Additional education at the college level beyond the educational requirements established for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of education related to the position) To be considered for advanced salary placement upon hire transcripts and/or diploma must be provided All new hires will be placed at Step 1 of the salary schedule and will advance to Step 2 after successfully completing the six-month probationary period. Longevity increments are offered based on years of service with the District: an additional 1.20% of base salary after completing 4 years of service, 4.10% at 9 years, 7.08% at 14 years, 10.15% at 19 years, 13.31% at 24 years, 16.46% at 29 years. Promotional and/or transfer candidates will be placed at the appropriate step in accordance with established Personnel Commission Rules & Regulations. Education Incentives AA/AS = 2.50% BA/BS = 4.00% MA/MS = 5.00% Ed.D./Ph.D/JD = 6.00% (Percentage increase on base salary, paid monthly) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (Upon Offer of Employment) Employment Verification: The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that the District obtain documentation from every individual who is employed which verifies identity and authorizes his/her right to work in the United States. Individuals selected for employment are required to submit to a tuberculosis risk assessment, and, if risk factors are identified, would then be required to submit to a tuberculosis examination to determine freedom from tuberculosis. The District reserves the right to require a job related physical examination and satisfactory results from such an exam. Fingerprinting: State law requires that all employees be fingerprinted. AB1610 prohibits employment until the Department of Justice completes its obligations regarding the arrest and conviction information, and from employing a person who has been convicted of a violent or serious felony, as defined. All candidates with a conviction record for offenses other than minor traffic violations, must file a conviction record statement with their application. Such a conviction, or failure to report a record of convictions, may bar you from employment. Other: Eligibles will be required to provide a current DMV report and/or proof of auto insurance to the Classified Human Resources Department before being certified for a final selection interview for positions that require the employee to drive a district vehicle and/or hold a valid California driver's license.
