Travel RN – Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit) American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac PCU – Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. Assignment Overview Start Date: 06/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12‑hour day shifts (day, 3x12 hrs) Employment Type: Travel Openings: 1 Responsibilities Care for patients in a PCU focused on cardiovascular diagnoses including congestive heart failure, post‑myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, COPD, congenital heart defects, and infective endocarditis. Provide post‑cath lab procedures care, pre‑LVAD placement, pre‑heart/lung transplant, and pre‑valve replacement support. Maintain a patient‑to‑nurse ratio of 1:4. Work day shift, 3x12‑hour shifts (7:00–19:30). Cover weekends as needed (50% of weekends during the contract). Float between Med‑Surg, PCU, and ICU at both hospital campuses, with resources provided. Charting performed in Cerner (requirement for experience). Complete a 13‑week contract. Requirements Active IN or Compact RN license. BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted); ACLS preferred. Minimum 2 years of nursing experience. Level I Trauma experience required.Skills: Cardiac PCU, drips, post‑cath lab care, IV starts, and sheath pulls. Preferred: Conscious sedation and telemetry monitoring. Cerner EMR experience required. ACEN or CCNE‑accredited nursing degree. 2 supervisor references required. SSN and date of birth required for consideration. Additional Information Academic teaching facility; must precept and/or have students shadow during assignment. Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned; training and resources provided. Willing to float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby. Holiday coverage required—must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position.
