Must-Have:

• Competence in rhythm strip interpretation
• Experience with initiating and maintaining cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem

Description: Assess acute changes in patients. Work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with chronic ventilator patients preferred. Use EKG and interpret rhythm strips. Responsible for all aspects of tracheostomy care and management. Patient ratio may go to 6 at times, while CNA ratio is 10-12. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Common patient diagnoses include myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, stroke, syncope, diabetic ketoacidosis, congestive heart failure, post-pacemaker, stent, electrophysiology study, COVID-19, end-stage renal disease, and pulmonary embolism. Special equipment includes telemetry monitors and IV pumps. Position requires blood product administration, central line care/management, feeding tube care and management, isolation precautions, and management of dysrhythmias. Must be able to start and maintain IVs, manage cardiac drips (non-titration), and carry out continuous bladder irrigation.
