Role Summary This position is responsible for processing all release of information (ROI) specifically medical record requests, ensuring timely and efficient processing, accuracy, and the highest quality product and customer service. The associate safeguards patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA regulations. The role is intermediate level and requires at least 1 year of related Health Information Management experience. Travel is required – 75% or more of the time, covering one site in San Luis Obispo, CA and one in Templeton, CA. Position Highlights Hybrid with travel required to cover sites in San Luis Obispo, CA and Templeton, CA. Full-time, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4:30 PM. Comfortable working in a high‑volume production environment. Medical office experience preferred. Willingness to learn and grow within Datavant. Responsibilities Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information. Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software. Adhere to company and customer facility code of conduct and policies. Inform manager of work, site difficulties, or fluctuating volumes. Assist with additional duties as needed. Consistently apply medical privacy regulations to guard against unauthorized disclosure. Manage patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards. Prepare new patient charts, gather and assemble documents in standard order. Create digital images of paperwork for the electronic medical record. Respond to requests for patient records, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately. Answer inbound and outbound calls. Assist with patient walk‑ins, faxes, mail, data entry, scheduling pick‑ups, and training associates. Generate reports for manager or facility as directed. Exceed productivity expectations at the specific site. Participate in project teams and committees; lead staff on general questions and new hire training. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 18 years of age. Ability to travel 75% or more of the time locally/regionally. Ability to commute between locations as needed. Availability to work overtime during peak seasons when required. 1‑year health information related experience. Meeting or exceeding company productivity standards. Basic computer proficiency. Comfortable using phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment regularly. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English. Detail‑ and quality‑oriented, ensuring accurate and compliant medical records. Strong data entry skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and respond to changing priorities. Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Bonus Points Previous production or metric‑based work experience. In‑person customer service experience. Ability to build relationships with on‑site clients and customers. Comfortable presenting new ideas, process‑improvement suggestions, and feedback to stakeholders. Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO).
