Clinical Nurse Educator Critical Care Unit

The Clinical Nurse Educator Critical Care Unit is responsible for coordinating, planning, executing, evaluating and providing education activities and orientation programs to nursing staff. Planning will be in collaboration with the Professional Practice & Development team. Updates and facilitates nursing competencies, policies and procedures and special projects as assigned. The Clinical Nurse Educator Critical Care unit will serve as a resource to nursing leadership, staff and preceptors in the areas of nursing process, clinical knowledge and skills. This role will have a dotted line to the Director for Professional Practice & Development.

Requirements:

• Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or obtain in 24 months upon hire
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a practicing registered nurse or adult nursing educator
• Specialty certification within 2 years preferred
• MSN or Master's Degree in related field preferred

• Able to communicate well with customers (employees, volunteers, MDs and their personnel, managers, peers, community groups, and individuals) both verbally and in writing: able to hear normal conversational tones and read normal print.
• Able to speak clearly and fluently in English.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nursing practice and knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Demonstrated interest in professional organizations and other sources of career and knowledge development.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with individuals and groups.
• Demonstrated self-direction, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and accountability.
• Able to use PowerPoint, Excel and Word independently
