Paramedic

Paramedic (EMT-P)

Shift - 24hr, one shift on, one shift off, one shift on then 5 days off. This rotation has a "short week about every 6th and 8th week where they would only work one 24hr shift.

Call - there is no "on-call" however at this time there are a number of open shifts that would allow for extra shift pick up

Job Duties - on post in the hospital from 0700-2200hrs then at rest from 2200-0600hrs. During rest the staff member would need to ready to respond to any call via 911 or from the hospital. Rest space is available in a building next door to the hospital. The Paramedic (EMT-P) will carry out all directives given to him/her by the EMS Coordinator and by the Medical Director. He/she will ensure that optimal emergency medical services are rendered to the City of Sundance and in the areas of Crook County for which the service is responsible.

Essential Functions

Operates and maintains ambulances in accordance with Wyoming state laws and Sundance EMS policy and procedures.

Assists in patient care in accordance with Crook County Medical Services District (CCMSD) EMS policy and procedure.

Effectively and actively assesses his/her abilities and requests assistance as necessary for safe patient care.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Have and maintain a current National Registry EMT-P and WY-EMS license or have a license from a compact state.

ICS 100, 200 and 700 certified within 30 days of employment.

Current BLS, ACLS and PALS

Have and maintain a trauma certificate at least one of the following: PHTLS, TNCC, ATLS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent patient care skills.

Professional and discrete manner at all times.

Ability to communicate effectively and verbally as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions

LifePac 15, Hamilton T-1, ImageTrend and Cerner charting systems, to name a few of the systems they would be using.
