Nurse PractitionerSignature Addiction Medicine (SAM) services is looking for an innovative, dynamic individual to join our program that provides opioid use disorder treatment. We are outcomes driven and have a strong focus on the holistic well-being of the patient. We have been watching the opioid epidemic grow in Massachusetts and around the nation, and we are motivated to provide patient centered services that will make a difference. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility to join us. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for MOUD prescriptions of buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). This individual is also responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects of the medical record.Location: 176 Quincy Avenue Brockton MA 02302Department: Signature Addiction Medicine/OBATThis is a Per Diem PositionResponsibilities:Ensure that appropriate laboratory studies have been performed and reviewed, as neededEnsure that a medical evaluation, including a medical history, has been performed at admissionCompletes physical examinations, procedures, lab specimens and records results. Presents medical forms for the program physician's evaluation, consultation and signature.Ensure that evidence of current physiologic dependence, length of history of addiction, or exceptions to criteria for admission are documented in the patient's record before the patient receives the initial prescription for Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.Work with clinical and other providers, such as Medical Director, Peer Recovery Coach, Medical Assistant and Program Director and various departmental staff to coordinate care with the team.Participate in meetings as necessary.Assists patients in referral services for other medical issues (co-occurring illnesses) and other medical needsContinuous quality improvement (conduct in-service and patient education)Ensures our treatment complies with State Regulations, HIPAA and 42 CRF Part 2 StandardsDemonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.1. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.Performs other duties as assigned.BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:Education: Master's degree in Nursing form an accredited college or universityExperience (Type & Length): One year experience as an NP in a treatment setting that prescribes medication for opioid use disorderCertification/Licensure: Licensed with the state of MA as a Nurse Practitioner; Current DEA License; Waivered to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone)Software/Hardware: Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
