JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Shipping

REPORTS TO: Logistics Team Leader

Pay: $33.00 - 38.00

JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily movement of products through Bayer Built's transportation network. This position collaborates closely with drivers, customers, shipping personnel, and operations teams to ensure deliveries are scheduled, routed, and executed efficiently. This role also plays a critical role in maintaining high service levels by coordinating transportation schedules, resolving delivery issues, communicating with customers and drivers, and ensuring accurate execution of daily logistics activities.

This position is a hands-on operational role requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Transportation Coordination
  • Schedule and coordinate daily customer deliveries.
  • Assist in route planning and load scheduling to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and updates to drivers and customers.
  • Monitor daily deliveries and address transportation issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate changes to routes, schedules, and delivery priorities as needed.
  • Ensure transportation activities are executed safely and efficiently.
• Customer Service & Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for transportation and delivery-related questions.
  • Communicate delivery updates, delays, and schedule changes to customers and internal teams.
  • Work proactively to resolve customer concerns and service issues.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, shipping, and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Logistics Execution
  • Verify delivery schedules, shipment information, and transportation documentation.
  • Ensure orders are properly scheduled and communicated to all affected departments.
  • Monitor transportation capacity and assist in balancing workloads.
  • Track and update logistics information within company systems.
  • Support daily dispatching and transportation coordination activities.
• Problem Resolution
  • Identify and resolve transportation, scheduling, and delivery challenges.
  • Assist drivers and operations personnel with logistical issues throughout the day.
  • Escalate significant service concerns when appropriate.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the logistics department.

• Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate transportation records and documentation.
  • Enter and update delivery information within company software systems.
  • Prepare reports and information as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and transportation policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma
• Post-Secondary education
• Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, transportation, customer service, shipping, or related operations preferred.
• Experience with transportation management or ERP systems preferred.
