Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 4 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with C-sections and computer charting, preferably Cerner. Description: Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting an offer. They must score 80% or higher. If failing, they will be ineligible for 6 months. Must have experience with C-sections. Must have computer charting experience. Unit has 18 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds. Average deliveries are 8-10 daily. Two fully equipped ORs are available for C-sections. The unit attempts to follow established guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios, staffing up to meet standards when possible. Assignments are made with patient safety in mind. The nurse-to-patient ratio is generally 2:1, depending on acuity. Antepartum assignments can be 4:1. C-sections are 1:1. Electronic medical records are utilized on the unit. Staff must be able to confidently circulate and recover C-sections. Common patient diagnoses include laboring or preterm pregnant patients. The facility is a Level II Emergency Qualified unit, taking gestations 28 weeks and greater. It is also a Level 1 Trauma Center. Travelers must be willing to provide coverage on holidays if needed. Cancellation policy allows for the facility to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is Cerner.
