Claims Assistant

Job Title: Claims Assistant Location: Hanover, MD Eligibility: Candidate must be eligible to be employed in the United States. Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Assistant to join our team at their home office in Hanover, Maryland. This in-person position is integral to our claims department, focusing on conducting liability and coverage investigations, evaluating bodily injury and property damage claims, and negotiating settlements for first and third-party injury and property damage claims. Key Responsibilities Claims Processing and Management: Assist claims representatives in the efficient processing and management of insurance claims, ensuring all steps are completed accurately and promptly. Documentation Review: Analyze and review supporting documentation to substantiate claims, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Claims Reporting: Assist in the preparation of detailed claim reports and maintain thorough and organized claim files. Communication: Serve as a liaison between policyholders and other parties involved in the claims process, providing updates and resolving any issues or discrepancies. Follow-up: Track the progress of outstanding claims and work to resolve any pending issues. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the claims department as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team. Qualifications Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail are essential for managing multiple claims simultaneously. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and record-keeping, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively interact with policyholders and team members.
