Job Description

The Maintenance Technician ensures the efficient and reliable operation of high-speed and complex processing and packaging equipment. This includes troubleshooting, problem identification, maintaining, testing, installing, and conducting all mechanical repairs on processing and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journey-level electrical work required to install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial-type electrical systems, commercial kitchen equipment, controls, and other complex equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, robotics, motors, pumps, conveying systems, and cooking equipment.

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning components of processing equipment.

• Diagnose complex problems related to HVAC systems under general supervision.

• Repair and maintain heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems, including disassembling, assembling, and installing components associated with these systems.

• Test, adjust, and calibrate mechanical and electrical control systems associated with HVAC systems.

• Complete documentation of maintenance records, work orders, and task records accurately and timely.

• Perform routine tours of the facility and safety checks.

• Operate company-owned equipment, machinery, power tools, and testing equipment in accordance with all applicable safety regulations.

• Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair of heating systems.

• Mechanical skills including installation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Preventive maintenance and repair.

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2 years of journey-level experience in electrical and heating equipment maintenance.

• Completion of an apprentice-level electrical and mechanical training program plus 2 years' progressive experience as an electrician preferred.

• HVAC Journeyman's License preferred.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and manufacturers' maintenance manuals.

• Proficiency in Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.

• Good mechanical aptitude and operation knowledge of control systems.

• Effective troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems.

• Physical ability to climb ladders and extension ladders up to 35 ft.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

• Ability to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for lengthy periods of time.

Work Environment

The work environment includes cold and damp conditions, refrigerated areas, and hot zones in heated equipment areas. The job operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 11pm to 7am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
