Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) travel position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 16-bed high-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as determined by the facility
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or Red Cross accepted
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in ICU or the specific specialty
• Nursys license verification required
• Active state or compact license must be on hand for consideration
• Current driver's license required
• 2 professional references from within the last year required
• Skills checklist required

• Nurses collaborate across all care team disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a safe and secure environment
• All ICU RNs are required to complete both an online pre-test and an on-site test as part of the hiring process
• No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
• PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit
