Assistant Property Manager

Location: Maplewood Apartments & Townhomes – RapidCity,SD57701 Job Category: Property Management Salary Range: $18.43–$20.00 per hour About the Role As an Assistant Property Manager, you will support the Property Manager in managing the community. The position involves leasing vacant units, handling rent applications, managing tenant recertification, and ensuring full occupancy. What will you be doing? Assist the Property Manager with preparating initial and follow‑up correspondence on all property matters. Collect income and manage expenses, including tenant receivables and maintenance reports, to maximize economic benefit. Implement day‑to‑day operations according to a standard operating procedural manual. Process tenant recertification, including verification, certification, annual and interim recertification, and maintain leases as needed. Maintain 100% occupancy of the building at all times. Success Skills Take initiative and develop plans to achieve goals. Ask questions and challenge the status quo to improve processes. Leverage technology to increase efficiency. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Pay attention to detail while seeing the big picture. Adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Qualifications Previous property management experience preferred. Experience with affordable housing programs (Project‑based Section8, Section202, LIHTC) preferred. Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws helpful. Experience with Yardi software helpful. Computer literacy required.
