Registered Nurse (PACU)

This position involves caring for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Nursing staff will follow established guidelines to ensure patient safety and comfort. There will be a maximum of two patients per nurse in Phase 1 and a maximum of three patients in Phase 2. Staff is expected to work collaboratively with team members for optimal patient outcomes. Weekend and holiday shifts are required approximately every eight weeks. On-call shifts are typically three to four times per month, with a 30-minute response time. Most on-call duties involve minimal disruption after 7 PM. Nursing staff will have access to support resources, including respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. Charting will be performed using the EPIC system. A floating policy restricts staff to this department only. Floor-specific orientation will include one to two shifts with a designated preceptor.
