Position Summary As a Starbucks Barista at Hyatt House, you'll create memorable guest experiences by serving exceptional coffee and beverages. Your main duties include preparing a variety of drinks to Starbucks' standards while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages efficiently and to company standards Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring hygiene and safety protocols are followed Provide excellent customer/guest service by addressing customer needs and creating a welcoming environment Operate cash registers, handle payments, and perform transactions accurately Assist with restocking of supplies as needed Support team members in daily operations and collaborate effectively to meet business goals Stay informed about Starbucks products and promotions to educate and engage with customers/guests Adhere to Starbucks and Hyatt House operational policies and procedures Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and contribute to team success Ensure all equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues promptly Other Essential Job Duties Attend hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management Communicate all pertinent information to all department heads Must be available to work weekends and holidays Arrive to work on time, ready to clock in, in a clean/pressed uniform and non‑slip shoes Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming Wear name tag at all times when at work Be attentive, courteous and efficient at all times when dealing with the Guests and co‑workers Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with all employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony throughout the workplace Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology Be capable of self‑supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a coffee shop Minimum age requirement of 18 years Knowledge and Skills Efficiently handle multiple orders while maintaining excellent customer/guest service Adapt to customers'/guests’ needs in a busy environment Communicate effectively with customers/guests, colleagues, and supervisors Prioritize tasks and manage time to handle peak periods successfully Inspire and lead team members to create a positive work environment Accurately process orders and maintain records Stay calm and handle emergencies to ensure customer safety and satisfaction Reasoning Ability As a Starbucks barista working within Hyatt House, strong reasoning skills are essential. You’ll need to use good judgment to handle customer questions and solve any issues quickly. Listening carefully to both customers and coworkers is key to understanding and addressing any concerns. In a busy and fast‑paced setting, anticipating customer needs and potential challenges is important before they elevate. These reasoning skills help you make smart decisions that maintain the high service standards of both Starbucks and Hyatt House, ensuring a smooth experience for guests and supporting your team effectively. Physical Demands As a Starbucks barista at Hyatt House, you'll be on your feet for extended periods, crafting beverages and providing excellent customer service. You'll need to lift items up to 50 lbs, such as coffee supplies. Strong visual skills are important for reading orders and ensuring guest satisfaction.
