Job SummaryThe CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.ROUTE WILL MOVE TO ST. LOUIS, MO BRANCH IN SEPTEMBER, 2026!Hours and WagesMonday-Friday, 7:30AM start - completion of route10-15 hours of overtime expected each weekPaid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week$23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experienceDuties and ResponsibilitiesConduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working orderTurn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance formsDeliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippersVerify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurateCollect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposesMaintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policiesWash the exterior of tractor and equipment dailyAssist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as neededSkills and AbilitiesAbility to operate a manual transmissionMust possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsementMust possess good customer service and organizational skillsMust be able to work independently and make quick decisionsEducation and ExperienceAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredHold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standardsPhysical RequirementsAbility to pass a DOT physicalAbility to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionallyFull range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefitsHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
