Underwriting Assistant Summary This role focuses on providing technical underwriting and administrative support for property coverages at the U.S. subsidiary of a leading global Japanese property and casualty (P& C) insurance group. Working under minimal supervision, the assistant will handle account setup, data collection, rating, and policy/endorsement issuance for assigned new and renewal accounts, contributing to the efficient functioning of the Chicago office and delivering high-quality customer service. Essential Duties Underwriting Support & Administration Collect, reconcile, and analyze submission data (exposures, loss history, financials) to prepare policy/account files for underwriter review. Input financial and statistical information accurately into systems to process quotes, policies, reinsurance, and endorsements. Produce quotes, binders, and policy documents for new and renewal accounts with minimal guidance from Underwriters. Manage reinsurance tasks and input data into Cat Modeling templates, providing underwriters with baseline analyses (e.g., flood zone information). Process mid-term premium and non-premium bearing endorsement transactions within authorized thresholds. Respond promptly to broker service requests (loss runs, missing documentation, billing inquiries) and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders. Order and review Risk Engineering/inspection reports, summarizing key findings to ensure compliance with risk management standards. Working Hours / Working style Full-Time.（8:30-17:00） Hybrid work style: 4 days on-site per week as standard.
