Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN is responsible for supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embodying the values and safety protocols of Select Medical.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Effectively communicate changes in patient status to maintain continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel while employing effective decision-making and prioritization.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by fostering team collaboration and communication.
• Assume charge responsibilities when required and identify opportunities for professional growth.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
