Senior Character and Facial Animator for AI Model Evaluation

Help shape how advanced AI evaluates character performance by defining what authentic emotional and physical performance transfer looks like. You will bring senior animation judgment to the evaluation of outputs that preserve an actor''s timing, emotion, micro-expressions, and subtle physical choices. Key Responsibilities

• Define evaluation criteria for emotional resonance and physical fidelity, and identify gaps in current evaluation methods.
• Curate benchmark performances, including examples that are straightforward to capture and examples that present meaningful challenges.
• Develop the ideal reviewer profile, expertise mix, and scoring rubric for human evaluators assessing outputs at scale.
• Collaborate with other subject-matter experts to maintain consistent, accurate evaluations.

• At least 4 years of hands-on character-animation experience focused on human or character performance.
• Verifiable credits on at least two feature films, animated features, or AAA game cinematics at recognized studios.
• Experience in facial animation and/or performance capture, such as facial keyframing, motion-capture solving, cleanup, motion editing, or technical design of facial and performance rigs.
• Exceptional attention to micro-expressions, emotional beats, and the details that make performance feel authentic.
• Familiarity with AI tools and workflows, including the ability to create visual samples for testing and comparison.
• Ability to turn complex visual observations into clear language for data captions and evaluation templates.
• This role is for character-performance animators. Experience limited to cinematography, lighting, camera, color, compositing, editing, generalist 3D, layout, previsualization, environment, or effects work does not qualify on its own.

• Part-time W-2 hourly employment, with potential placement on an AI lab''s extended workforce.
• Work from Playa Vista, California, or New York, New York, with in-person working sessions required once or twice per month.
• A reliable 4K-resolution monitor for pixel-level review is preferred but optional.

• $60 to $90 per hour.
