Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI imaging exams on patients of all ages, ensuring patient safety and comfort while capturing high-quality diagnostic images. The role includes operating MRI equipment, preparing patients, administering intravenous contrast injections, and maintaining accurate documentation to support diagnostic and treatment processes. Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI equipment to perform imaging exams according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining the process and ensuring patient safety.
- Administer intravenous contrast agents as required, following safety guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure sufficient imaging data is obtained for accurate diagnosis and patient management.
- Document procedures, patient information, and consent forms accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all safety procedures related to MRI operations and patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program.
- ARRT certification and NYSDOH license required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Certification to perform contract intravenous injections.
- Specialized training in MRI technology and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Experience in MRI imaging for diverse patient populations.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and protocols.
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must work holidays as needed.
- Compliance with all MRI safety and infection control procedures is mandatory.
- Housing accommodations are available for this position.
- Day shifts only: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Total of 30 hours per week.
