Advanced Practice Provider ICU

Seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU team at UH Elyria Medical Center. The schedule is 12‑hour shifts rotating days, nights (eligible for night shift incentive program), weekends and holidays. APP experience is preferred and new grads may be considered for the New Grad APP Training Program. A Brief Overview The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks are specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine, nursing regulations, and UH entity‑specific Medical Bylaws. What You Will Do Partner with attending physicians to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical‑care service. Manage the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty. Perform advanced airway management, including endotracheal intubations with direct and video‑assisted laryngoscopy and surgical airway management such as open cricothyrotomy. Collaborate with attending physicians and respiratory therapists to manage ventilators, non‑invasive positive‑pressure ventilation, and high‑flow modalities. Execute invasive procedures including central lines, PICC lines, mid‑lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated. Select, implement, manage, and titrate vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia. Respond to all full trauma activations in the ED, intracranial hemorrhages, and aortic syndromes transferred to a higher level of care in the ED. The above listed critical‑care duties require that the position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP). Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Follow specific duties and responsibilities outlined by the department during orientation. Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
