Performs advanced and specialized drafting, calculations and design work; performs field work; uses automated systems; learns specialized techniques; trains and reviews the work of others. Performs advanced and specialized design work. Performs advanced and specialized drafting and calculations in support of design activities; develops graphic presentations that include distinctive design features. Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps. Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications. Uses additional automated design tools or specialized design procedures in areas including bridge/culvert detailing, traffic management, geometric design, signal lighting design, retaining walls and building design. Experience: 6 years drafting, design, plan preparation. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Experience: 7 years drafting, design, plan preparation. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Experience: 8 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
