CHILDCARE ASSISTANT

Childcare Assistant

Provide on-site childcare in support of various family programs conducted by United General District 304 facilitators. Program locations will be in Skagit County.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide direct supervision of children between 6 months to 10 years old for sessions typically lasting 3-4 hours.
• Provide and assist children with safe and age appropriate activities.
• Prepare classroom and snacks prior to arrival of children.
• Possess a calm and professional demeanor when working in a high energy environment.
• Other duties that help drive our mission and abide by our organization's core values.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Current First Aid/CPR with infant endorsement
• Six months professional experience working with children between 6 months to 10 years old (nanny, childcare center, preschool) preferred
• Successfully pass a Washington State Patrol Background Screening (or similar agency)

Work Conditions:

• General office environment, school settings and community functions.
• Late afternoon/early evenings are required (usually 3-4 hours)

Required Physical Abilities:

• Must be physically able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to reach, push and pull with arms and hands.
• May be required to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
