Graduate Assistant

Job Summary: The Graduate Assistant (GA) position will include departmental, administrative, and operational tasks. The GA will work directly with the assigned supervisor and Department Dean to make sure University objectives are being met. This position will include various projects that enhance departmental internal efficiency, improve student and community communication, and support data-informed decision making. The GA will be responsible for helping to support campus wide initiatives such as health education and wellness programming. In some cases, the GA will support initiatives and programming for graduate student engagement.

• Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility
• Student must be fully accepted into a DelVal master's degree program by the appropriate graduate academic program department.
• Must carry a minimum of six (6) graduate credit hours per semester to be eligible for employment. Graduate assistants in their final semester may take a reduced course load with approval from the Dean.
• Must be available to work an average of ten (10) hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. A grade below a B in any course must be remediated in the following semester.
• Completion of at least 18 credits per academic year is required.
• Must complete electronic timecards bi-weekly in accordance with university payroll procedures. Supervisor approval is required for stipend disbursement.
• May not substitute for faculty in any instructional capacity.
• Will undergo a written performance appraisal at the end of each semester of employment.
• Must participate in an interview or equivalent assessment of suitability conducted by the position supervisor and/or a representative from the hiring department.
• Should demonstrate prior experience and/or a genuine interest in graduate enrollment, higher education administration, student engagement, or related fields
