Payroll Analyst

Support all functional areas of payroll as a member of Trinity Health's payroll shared services team Work with Payroll Managers/Representatives of Regional Health Ministries to ensure accurate employee payroll processing and information Analyze and monitor payroll functions including tax setup/withholding, banking, garnishment, and general processing Support relationships with contracted vendors and internal Trinity Health departments for audits, procedures, payroll withholdings, processing, and payments Review and balance payroll tax information and complete payroll tax reports, payments, and reporting in a multi-state environment Monitor payroll tax laws, wage and hour issues, and employee earnings and tax data Process, reconcile, audit, and transmit all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, benefits, wage attachment, and banking Complete quarter-end and year-end payroll activities and assist RHM Payroll Managers Run reports and perform audits to ensure accurate data Load EIBs to adjust employment records and support payroll processing Support the payroll production process Maintain confidentiality of payroll and human resources information Participate in special projects related to system enhancements and quality improvements Assist with policy and procedure implementation Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws/regulations and Trinity Health compliance requirements Requirements Associate's degree with major coursework in bookkeeping, accounting or related field and three (3) to five (5) years of comprehensive knowledge and progressively responsible payroll experience in a multi-entity and multi-state organization, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience Experience handling payroll and payroll processes, payroll tax and state reciprocity rules, garnishments, payroll-related regulatory compliance including FLSA, banking ACH/settlement, and internal controls for the payroll cycle Payroll tax experience preferred Good oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills and ability to develop methodologies for collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and evaluating data Detail oriented and able to meet established deadlines; excellent follow through Strong personal computer skills, particularly Excel Experience with Workday, Kronos timekeeping and ADP tax services preferred Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles Professionalism, customer focus, confidentiality, good judgment, tact, and diplomacy Ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership environment Must comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures Ability to set and organize work priorities and adapt to frequent changes Ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks/projects in a potentially stressful environment Ability to travel to various Trinity Health sites as needed (less than 20%) Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in payroll processing, including tax setup, compliance with payroll regulations, and multi-state payroll management.
