Beverage Service Position
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all beverage service products and supplies are available and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all beverage outlets.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional service to guests and other customers in a courteous manner.
- Stocking all beverage products for use by the beverage staff including liquor, beer, soda, mixers and cups.
- Completing all beverage outlet activities including filling soda and coffee machines, cleaning spouts, replenishing cup supply and cleaning all beverage dispensers and surfaces.
- Washing and drying glasses, dishes, plates and beverage utensils and ensuring adequate supplies are available for bartender and wait staff use.
- Managing and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all lounge areas that may include sweeping, mopping and sanitizing bar tops, counters and work stations.
- Maintaining the stock room in a clean and orderly manner.
- Verifying and recording all beverage department products and supplies and storing all products and supplies in correct storage areas.
- Assisting bartenders and wait staff with cleaning, set up and closing activities.
- Adhering to alcohol awareness programs including following protocols, checking guest identification and performing responsible beverage service.
- Performing bartending responsibilities as required.
- Reporting any guest complaints or concerns to immediate supervisor or manager for resolution.
- Notifying supervisor, manager or facility administrator of situations that may affect guests, associates or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities are none.
Supervision received is under the direct supervision of the Bar & Grill Supervisor or Bar & Grill Manager checking with supervisor frequently for directions or questions.
Position relationships include:
- Internal: Occasional contact with associates at all levels.
- External: Continual contact with guests and visitors. Infrequent contact with suppliers and sales representatives.
Education: A high school education or equivalent is required.
Experience: A minimum of three months prior bartending, customer service or cash handling experience is preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities must include excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.
Working environment includes:
- Work conditions: The majority of responsibilities are performed within lounge areas and on the gaming floor with exposure to differentials in temperature.
- Exposure to hazards: May be exposed to situations where hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions.
- Physical requirements: Continual walking, bending, standing and lifting is required.
License requirements are none.

Other requirements include:
- Must possess a bartending license or have the ability to obtain a bartending license and attend responsible beverage service class within 90 days of hire date.
- Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
- Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and be available for call-in work on short notice.
