This position offers a night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing pulmonary care to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under minimal supervision. This role involves performing patient assessments and implementing respiratory care plans, alongside executing various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and White.
• Manage airway interventions, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
• Administer aerosolized drugs and manage ventilation setups and operations.
• Conduct oral hygiene and maintain airway retraining devices.
• Oversee airway support device management, including BiPAP and CPAP devices.
• Deliver oxygen therapy and conduct therapeutic monitoring.
• Perform blood gas collection and analysis, along with EKG analysis.
• Ensure accurate documentation and assist in cleaning and stocking of equipment.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
• May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Texas state RT or RCP license required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required from NBRC.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required from AHA.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
