Sr. Battery Systems Engineer, Amazon Leo

From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.The Amazon LEO Battery team develops battery systems that power Amazon’s Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation. Our team works across battery design, systems engineering, modeling, test and validation, manufacturing, reliability, quality, and production to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performance battery systems for space applications.As a Sr. Battery Systems Engineer, you will own the development and maturation of battery requirements, verification criteria, and acceptance limits from early design through production. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production- Experience with the project management of technical projects- Master’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.- Experience developing requirements and verification criteria for complex battery, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability systems.- Strong understanding of Li-ion battery behavior, including capacity, DCIR, OCV, SOC/SOH, degradation, thermal behavior, cell balancing, and electrical protection.- Experience using modeling and statistical methods to establish engineering specifications and production acceptance limits.- Experience analyzing large production datasets and applying SPC and process capability methods.- Ability to communicate complex engineering analyses and defend technical decisions in cross-functional design and requirements reviews.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
