Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide in-house functional engineering expertise across Plumbing, HVAC, and HVAC Control Systems for a nationwide portfolio of facilities. This role will focus on maintaining and developing engineering standards, improving energy efficiency, supporting design consistency, and guiding commissioning efforts across all projects. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update standards for plumbing and HVAC system design to ensure consistency across all facilities. Partner with external design consultants to maintain alignment with design standards and goals. Conduct quality control reviews of design documents, drawings, and specifications for adherence to established standards. Coordinate with commissioning consultants and develop a comprehensive commissioning program for mechanical systems. Perform field investigations and evaluations of existing systems to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues. Collaborate closely with internal Architecture, Construction, Real Estate & Development, and Facility Operations teams to provide integrated, practical engineering solutions. Create and analyze energy models to recommend energy-saving measures and support corporate sustainability goals. Support procurement and installation of mechanical equipment, ensuring high-quality implementation and adherence to specifications. Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and documenting field observations and deficiencies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 7-10 years of experience in mechanical system design, with exposure to multiple HVAC system types. Experience with commissioning processes and energy efficiency standards. Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards. Ability to conduct on-site investigations, including roof and ceiling access. Excellent communication skills for coordination with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
