Balanced Diversity is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Buyer I for one of our clients in the high-tech manufacturing industry. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is organized, vendor-focused, and interested in growing their career in purchasing, supply chain, and materials management.

The Buyer I will support day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier communication, purchase order management, and coordination with internal departments to help ensure materials, goods, and services are delivered on time, at the right cost, and in alignment with quality and operational needs.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will work under direct supervision to support purchasing and supply chain activity for company operations. Responsibilities include:

• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and priority.
• Run MRP, analyze purchasing needs, verify requirements, and place purchase orders with vendors and suppliers.
• Purchase simple to moderately complex goods and services using catalogs, reference materials, and established purchasing guidelines.
• Manage work orders, replacement orders, and repair order activity.
• Communicate with suppliers to evaluate pricing, delivery timelines, quality, and reliability.
• Support vendor setup and updates in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable regarding vendor billing and payment matters.
• Maintain purchase orders, open PO reports, and purchase price variance reporting.
• Work with Logistics and Receiving to ensure accurate receipt of parts and timely delivery.
• Support supplier partnerships and vendor relationship development.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This person should be comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams, solving problems, and keeping purchasing activity moving with accuracy and follow-through.

• Knowledge of ISO 9000 procedures and standards is a plus.
• Bilingual Japanese skills are a plus for roles supporting international purchasing activity.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• 0–4 years of related experience.
• Experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment is preferred.
