Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Location: Henderson, KY
Shift: Nights | 3x12s (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (48-hour option available)

Join a busy Medical Surgical unit with an experienced clinical team in a teaching hospital that values collaboration, critical thinking, and exceptional patient care. This assignment is ideal for experienced Med Surg travel nurses looking for a rewarding acute care opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical patients.
• Care for patients with post-operative conditions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeds, COVID, UTIs, respiratory illnesses, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Manage PIV insertion, chest tubes, indwelling drains, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), Heparin and Cardizem drips, PEG/NG tubes, ostomies, remote telemetry, blood product administration, and NIH Stroke Scale assessments.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Float within your skill set as needed.

Requirements

• Active Compact RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience
• At least 1 previous travel assignment
• Recent Epic EMR experience
