Principal Software Developer (Mobile)

Baxter seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead mobile application development using React Native for iOS and Android platforms, with emphasis on secure voice calling and real-time communications. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with architecture design and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, development, and enhancement of Mercury mobile applications using React Native
- Design and implement secure voice calling capabilities with call signaling, audio routing, and reliability management
- Integrate mobile applications with backend systems, real-time communications services, and voice technologies
- Ensure functional parity and consistent user experience across iOS and Android platforms
- Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and champion mobile engineering best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience with significant mobile development
- Proven expertise with React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong experience developing for both iOS and Android platforms
- Experience integrating mobile applications with backend systems via REST APIs and real-time communications
- Experience designing or supporting mobile voice calling, VoIP, or WebRTC functionality
- Experience with regulated environments, preferably healthcare or life sciences
Compensation: $120,000–$165,000 base annually
