Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing Professional located in the area. This role involves providing comprehensive intensive care to critically ill adult patients, including those with complex trauma, stroke, burns, and medical or surgical conditions requiring critical care interventions. The position requires a commitment to patient safety, critical assessment, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required.
• Education Requirements: Active Illinois license, or confirmation that application process has been initiated.
• Location Requirements: Illinois residency preferred.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience required.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing adult patients with complex diagnoses such as trauma, stroke, burns, and requiring interventions like vent management, medication titration, art lines, and central lines. RNs are required to titrate drips, read EKG rhythms, and troubleshoot RT equipment. Float rotation may be required across different hospital units, with a cap of one patient per nurse if floated to MedSurg. The unit operates with a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio, with in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7. The role includes working every other weekend and holiday, with specific dress code and orientation requirements.
