Regional Sales Director, Rare Disease, US Neurology - SouthEast

Regional Sales Director for rare disease neurology in the Southeast US, leading a team of 7-8 account managers and executing regional commercial strategy for Alexion/AstraZeneca's specialty pharmaceutical portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 7-8 Regional Account Managers, translating national strategy into regional execution and sales targets
- Translate rare-disease market knowledge into regional priorities, growth opportunities, and actionable insights for senior leadership
- Build locally relevant business plans and customer strategies for physicians and health systems in compliance with ethical standards
- Maintain visible field presence through physician visits and account reviews; provide coaching to strengthen performance and career development
- Partner across Sales, Marketing, Medical, and Market Access functions to align regional execution with enterprise strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, marketing, or related field
- 10+ years progressive pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare commercial experience
- Leadership experience managing managers with ability to lead through complex regional structures
- Specialty sales experience with neurologists or highly specialized physicians; orphan-drug background preferred
- Proven track record scaling or expanding sales teams while maintaining performance and culture
- Cross-functional commercial knowledge in marketing, medical, operations, and managed markets
- Valid driver's license meeting company standards; ability to travel frequently within region
