Behavioral Therapy Specialist details

On-site at Harold W. Jordan Habilitation Center, Nashville, TN
3 x 12.5-hour shifts per week rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
37.5 hours per week standard; overtime available
6-month contract, renewable 07/01/2026 through 12/31/2026

Behavioral Therapy Specialist duties

Follow individual support plans to ensure the needs and active treatment requirements of persons served are met
Communicate with families, conservators, and employers of persons served to share information and meet active treatment requirements
Analyze medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities
Analyze environmental data to ensure safety and an appropriate environment for persons served
Train other staff on active treatment interventions to meet the requirements of individual support plans
Promote teamwork and a collaborative care environment

Behavioral Therapy Specialist qualifications

High school diploma or GED required must be verified prior to start
One year of full-time experience in teaching, sales/marketing, or providing services for individuals with disabilities preferred
Substitution allowed: 9+ quarter hours of college coursework in education, social/behavioral science, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health/human services
Experience with ADLs and working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Ability to work independently and handle difficult personalities required
BLS preferred but not required
Valid drivers license required
Must be a current Tennessee resident or willing to relocate prior to start
