API Technical Writer

We are seeking an experienced API Technical Writer to create, maintain, and improve technical documentation across API portfolios. The ideal candidate will proactively identify documentation gaps, outdated content, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve clarity, accuracy, structure, and usability.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve API documentation and technical content.

• Independently identify documentation gaps and prioritize updates based on business and user needs.

• Research and validate technical information by collaborating with developers, service owners, product experts, and solution architects.

• Document APIs, technical workflows, features, and processes in a clear and user-friendly manner.

• Review existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and usability.

• Manage documentation updates from initial research through review and publication.

• Partner with marketing and content teams to create technically accurate solution briefs, web content, and sales collateral.

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content.

• Ensure documentation aligns with product capabilities, technical standards, and go-to-market messaging.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an API Technical Writer, Technical Writer, or similar role.

• Strong understanding of APIs, software development, and technical concepts.

• Experience creating and maintaining developer-focused technical documentation.

• Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage documentation priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and marketing teams.

• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
