Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 15 months of emergency medicine experience Current travel experience License: Active Iowa license or compact multistate license Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) NIHSS certificate (preferred, can be obtained during onboarding) Must-Have: Experience with drips including sedation and vasoactive medications Experience reading telemetry strips Proficiency with antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and pain control Active TNCC certification EPIC EMR experience Recent Level I trauma experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room specialty. The nurse will care for patients of all types, primarily adults. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1, within a 36-bed capacity. The nurse will be expected to manage drips such as sedation, vasoactive medications, and control pain using various protocols. Scrubs required are navy blue, solid color. Travelers may be required to float across various campuses. The nurse will be required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Knowledge of emergency medicine and the ability to work in a dynamic and high-stress environment is essential. Professional references will be required. All candidates must have a current and valid nursing license and the appropriate certifications listed. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are necessary for this role.
