Status : under 29 hours/week

Location : Feith Family YMCA (465 Northwoods Rd. Port Washington, WI 53074)

Wage : $15/hour

Hours: Two evenings per week and Saturday mornings. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Recreation Coordinator assists in the daily direction and management of the sports and youth enrichment programs which may include organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, recreation programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults at assigned branch. The incumbent may give work direction to sports and youth enrichment staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists in the implementation of sports programs which may include organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, recreation programs and activities. 
2. Ensures a high level of customer service which enhances the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction. 
3. Assists in managing the day to day programing to ensure revenue, program goals, and expense targets are achieved. 
4. Delivers sports programs directly to members and participants a portion of the time. 
5. Provides work direction to sports and youth enrichment staff when appropriate. 
6. May assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and giving work direction to staff and volunteers.
7. Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum 18 years of age.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in sports programs. 
3. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sports recreation program activities. 
4. Knowledge of rules in sports recreation program activities. 
5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
6. Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming. 
7. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build community relationships. 
8. Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. 
9. CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (within 30 days of hire). 
10. Ability to manage programs to a diverse population.

CERTIFICATIONS:

1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
2. Stand, run, kick, throw, bend, and catch.
3. Noise level is usually moderate.
