Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant

The Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides skilled technical assistance to the Licensed Physical Therapist and supports patients in regaining mobility and improving quality of life. Cancer and its treatments can sometimes have lasting effects on physical function, and rehabilitation plays a vital role in recovery. The ideal candidate must have an Associate's Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association, at least one year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an acute care setting (preferably oncology), and hold a Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. The candidate must also maintain CPR certification. The candidate must be available to work 19 hours per week. The Department of Rehabilitation Services has more than 100 oncology rehabilitation professionals and staff dedicated to optimizing the physical abilities and quality of life of people affected by cancer.
