Tax Associate AttorneyA premier global law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney to join its New York office.This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, investment funds, financial institutions, and multinational corporations on sophisticated domestic and international tax matters.Compensation$310,000 – $390,000+Ideal Background• 3–6 years of transactional tax experience gained at a sophisticated law firm• Experience advising clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, capital markets transactions, financings, and investment fund formations• Experience representing public companies, private companies, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, investment funds, financial institutions, and multinational businesses• Experience structuring complex domestic and cross-border transactions to achieve tax-efficient outcomes• Experience analyzing and advising on partnership taxation, corporate taxation, international tax, executive compensation, REITs, or tax-exempt organizations is a plus• Experience drafting and negotiating tax provisions in acquisition agreements, financing documents, partnership agreements, and other transactional documents• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills• Ability to independently manage sophisticated tax matters while maintaining significant client interaction• Excellent academic credentials• LL.M. in Taxation is a plus but not required• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required• New York bar admission required or ability to become admittedWhy This OpportunityPremier Tax practiceSophisticated domestic and international transactional tax workOpportunity to advise leading public companies, investment funds, and private equity sponsorsSignificant client interaction and early responsibility on complex transactionsStrong mentorship and professional developmentCollaborative AmLaw 50 environment
