Software Engineer I - Vertx, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful micro services - GNST

Software Engineer I develops and maintains software applications, writes clean and efficient code, completes code reviews with guidance and automated testing to ensure high-quality deliverables, debugs software components, and supports and monitors software across various environments.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains software applications
• Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Completes code reviews and automated testing with guidance from peers and leaders
• Debugs basic software components and identifies code defects for remediation
• Supports and monitors software across test, integration, and production environments
• Collaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives
• Uses AI tools to support coding, testing, debugging, and documentation tasks and leverages AI features in development tools to improve task efficiency and code quality
• Applies AI-generated recommendations with guidance, validating outputs for accuracy, quality, and alignment with engineering standards and maintains accountability for outputs

Qualifications

• Computer Science, or equivalent degree, or industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years software development experience in a professional work environment working with Java technologies (Vertx, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful micro services, Spark, In-Memory Computing, Spark, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Kafka, Yugabyte ,RESTful API’s, Apache Spark is a plus).
• Hands-on work experience with application design, software development and automated testing
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, relational or NoSQL databases.
• Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and eloquent solutions.
• Ability to learn and investigate new technology and business domains, question status quo and think outside of the box.
• Ability to debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation.
• Experience working in Agile or other rapid application development methods.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
