Purchasing Buyer

This position is accountable for implementing and controlling the procurement of raw materials, containers, cartons, and related packaging supplies on time and at the best price. This role maintains an uninterrupted flow of production and keeps appropriate inventory levels while attaining plant inventory and production efficiency goals. Additional Information Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hrs weekly) This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans. Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. Plan and purchase raw and packaging components for the manufacturing facility Expedite/de-expedite components based on inventory levels and production schedules Analyze label requirements and take necessary action to ensure labels coordinate with batch shipment Review MRP (Material Resource Planning) daily for unusual production to determine inventory levels Coordinate with Production, Receiving, and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies Assist with production scheduling Enforce terms and conditions of purchase orders, compliance with legal requirements, and Company policy Minimum Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of work experience in a Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations role Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations role or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an operations or supply chain function Preferred Qualifications Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. Have prior work experience using MRP (Material Resource Planning) and MPS (Material Production Scheduling) systems Have prior work experience in procurement, buying, and/or scheduling Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility Prior work experience using planning software such as QAD, Oracle, or SAP
