Assignment Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: 3x12s (36 Hours/Week)
• Weekend Requirement: Required
• On-Call: None

Compensation

• Weekly Gross Pay: $1,833.74
• Taxable Hourly Rate (W2): $19.50/hour
• Non-Taxable Weekly Stipend: $1,131.74

Unit Overview

• 60-Bed Med Surg Unit
• Located on the 4th and 5th Floors of the Main Campus
• Patient Ratios:
  • 4th Floor Med Surg Specialty: 5:1
  • 5th Floor Med Surg: 6:1
• EMR: Altera (Allscripts)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience
• Telemetry experience
• Active RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac rhythm recognition
• IV start proficiency
• Strong time-management skills

Equipment Experience

• Remote Telemetry Monitoring
• Capnography
• Alaris IV Pumps
• Glucometers
• Dynamaps

Common Patient Population & Procedures

Experience caring for patients undergoing:

• Cholecystectomy
• Appendectomy
• Colectomy
• Diagnostic GI Procedures
• Paracentesis
• Thoracentesis
• Cardiac Catheterizations
• Gastric Sleeve Procedures
• Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacements
• Orthopedic Trauma and Fracture Repairs

Floating Requirements

• Mandatory floating as needed to:
  • Inpatient Rehab
  • Emergency Department
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Travelers will only be assigned within their scope of practice and competency level.

Dress Code

• Current Scrub Color: Black
• Transitioning to Medical City Blue Scrubs
