Job Summary

HII is seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and supporting systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ASP.NET WebForms, .NET Framework, Angular, and SQL Server, along with modern backend and frontend technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
• Analyze software requirements and formulate operational specifications.
• Develop and maintain applications using ASP.NET WebForms and .NET Framework 4.7.
• Build frontend applications using Angular and TypeScript.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js/NestJS.
• Design, query, and optimize SQL Server databases.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and database logic.
• Troubleshoot application, database, and integration issues.
• Perform unit testing and support application quality.
• Use source-control systems such as Git or TFS.
• Support CI/CD and containerized application environments.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain development standards.

Required Technical Skills

• ASP.NET WebForms: Page lifecycle, server controls, ViewState, event-driven programming
• .NET Framework 4.7: C# or VB.NET
• SQL Server: T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, query optimization
• ADO.NET: DataSet, DataReader, connection management

• TypeScript: Strong typing and modern JavaScript
• NestJS: RESTful APIs, dependency injection, microservices

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience, or
• Master's Degree and 3 years of experience, or
• Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
• Related or non-related exempt experience may substitute for the degree as specified by the requirement.

Work Environment

• Remote position
• May require onsite work at Building 88, Newport News, VA
• 1st Shift: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
• Weekday schedule
• Must be able to support the organization as required.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong ASP.NET WebForms, .NET Framework, Angular, SQL Server, and TypeScript experience, combined with the ability to work across frontend, backend, database, testing, source control, and deployment environments.
