Avacend Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) for a 13-week local/travel contract in Augusta, GA. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care during day or night shifts, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes within fast-paced clinical environments. Nurses will care for patients with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 and document care using the Epic EHR system. Contract extension and permanent placement opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in the Labor & Delivery setting
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to emergencies and changes
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and ongoing care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using Epic EHR
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Adhere to hospital policies and professional nursing standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Active Georgia RN license or Multistate Compact RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification (or to be obtained within 180 days)
• NRP certification (or to be obtained within 180 days)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with patient assessment in ICU, ED, L&D, or OR settings
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and patient education
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within interdisciplinary teams
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives
